RSV Time!

So, the day came for me to return to work- March 2nd. Michael had a cold, of course, so Geoff took the day off to take him in to the Doctor (I thought it would be bad for me to miss my first day back). The Doctor said he had a cold and there was nothing really she could do but for us to wait it out. So we went on with our days, Michael was in the nursery at my school. Thursday I went to check on him, as I always do during lunch, and Carmen (Michael's teacher) said he was doing great and smiling and talking all morning- he was down for a nap! Come 3:50pm, I was headed to pick up my Pumpkin and I get a frantic message from Carmen that she did not like Michael's breathing and that I needed to get down there- I ran down to find Carmen holding a listless Michael who what wheezing- it was AWFUL!!!! I immediately called the Dr. and took him in to see her. He tested + for RSV and we were given an inhaler for him to try (although the Dr. said it probably wouldn't make much of a difference). Anyway, we went home, Geoff went to his fraternity Founders Day Party and my parents came over for dinner- needless to say, Michael's breathing became more labored and he was now runnning a temp- called the on-call nurse and took Michael to Children's Legacy (which is the most amazing hospital we have been in!!!!) They were all soooo wonderful and it was sooooo clean!!!! What we thought was going to be a quick breathing treatment turned in to Michael being admitted for 3 nights, monitoring oxygen intake and placed on oxygen:( Long story, longer, we were discharged on Sunday morning and Michael is doing great! He has definitely given us a run for our money over the past 4 months...but he is well worth it:) We are just so happy he is home and on the way to getting better!!!!
